Cresson Max Singer's Obituary
CRESSON MAX SINGER, 80, of Chesapeake, OH, died Wednesday, January 28, 2015, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY. Graveside service will be 12 Noon Monday, February 2, 2015, at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, OH. Burial will follow. Max was born April 27, 1934, in Chesapeake, OH, a son of the late Alta Carl and Ona Mae Ball Singer. He was a retired journeyman from IBEW Local 317, a past master of Masonic Lodge 550 F&AM, and an avid golfer where he participated in several area leagues. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Virginia Burcham, Alta Carl Singer, Jr., Lula McCalla, Delbert Singer, and Donald Singer. Max is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gloria "Pauline" Smoot Singer; two children and their spouses, Melody and Rick Clark of Ashland, KY, and Mark and Vanessa Singer of Ashland, KY; five grandchildren, Leslie Singer, Ryan (Kathy) Clark, Jason Singer, Eric (Nikie) Clark, and Beth (James) Kinner; three great grandchildren, Ariel Hampton, Aiden Lawson, and Colin Clark; and four sisters, Ona Mae (Jack) Reese, Marie Wechsler, Myrtle Belle Mancini, and his twin, Gloria Woolwine. At Max's request, there will be no visitation. Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake, OH, is handling the arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.schneidergriffin.com.
