David Lee Owens' Obituary
David Lee Owens, 82, of Ironton, Ohio passed at his residence on Sunday, June 9, 2024. He was born in Huntington, WV on September 7, 1941, to the late Ossie Rutherford and Sally Genevieve Ransbottom Owens. David was also preceded in death by his sister, Anna Wright.David is survived by his wife Karen Miller Owens, a son, Michael Owens, a daughter, Jami Smith (Joey). Also surviving are two brothers, Paul Owens and Ken Owens; three sisters, Debi Smith (Laddie), Connie Rutherford (Gordon) and Brenda McComas; along with several nieces and nephews.David was a former employee with Owens Illinois in Huntington, WV., and a 1959 graduate from Fairland High School in Proctorville, OH. He was a wonderful teacher and coach at multiple local schools, primarily at Dawson Bryant. David was an Army Veteran and attended Woodland Freewill Baptist Church in Ironton, OH.A visitation will take place on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, Ohio from 6:00 PM ~ 8:00 PM. There will be a funeral service on Friday, June 14, 2024, at the funeral home at 11:00 AM with Pastor Dave Schug officiating. Burial will follow at Rome Cemetery, in Proctorville, OH.
