Donovan Ray Watson Sr.'s Obituary
In memory of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Donovan Ray Watson Sr. 83 of Scottown, OH, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at The Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. He was born on July 16, 1941, to the late Virginia Kilgore and stepfather Carmie Kilgore. He attended Windsor School prior to marrying the love of his life Gloria L. Watson. Donovan was employed by ODOT as a crane operator for 36 years and drove a school bus at Symmes Valley Local Schools for 8 years. In addition to his career, he was able to pursue interest as a life-long farmer. To know Donovan is to love him. He had one incomparable work ethic and dedication to provide for his family. He is survived by one son Donovan (Kathy) Watson Jr. of Scottown, OH; two cherished grandchildren Stacy (Ricky) Patterson of South Point, OH, and Andrew Watson of Scottown, OH; three cherished great grandchildren Noah, Chloie, and Nyles Patterson; and 1 sister Julie (Mike) Ertz of Altoona, Iowa, and their children Eric and Emily. Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, OH, with Pastor Justin Berry officiating. Burial will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home. "Though you are gone, your love and guidance will live on forever. Rest in Peace, Poppy."
