I can remember when I was little sitting on the porch at my Papaw and Mamaw Thompson's house listening to Brother McCallister practice his sermons. They didn't have air conditioning and the windows were open so it made for the perfect learning time. He would have his sheet with what I thought was the brightest drawings and writing spread out on the bed as he went over each verse. The very chats I would copy every night of our revival. After services he would take me and my brother to the store and buy us a pop. I thought he was the greatest. I was probably 10 years old. Years later when I was 21 he attended my Mamaw's funeral. I had just had a baby boy. He ask me what his name was and I told him Joshua. He said well he has a wonderful biblical name. You make sure he lives up to that name. I'm thought of those words so many times over the years and did my best to do as he had ask. I'm thankful that he is a Christian Man now. Brother McCallister thought me many things over the years and for that I am truly thankful. I pray he is rewarded with eternal life.

So sorry,I can remember when we all got together up to the old home place and had family reunions with mama mccallister.l miss those days. I don't even know our family anymore, we are so spread out any more and have been for years . God bless you all where ever you are.
I learned more from this man than he ever known. From the many days spent on school bus, to giving me my first single shot 20ga, getting me a slug barrel for my first 12ga, to fox hunting at night, to see who could kill the most squirrels every season, and to church. Always had a smile on his face and called me son like I was his own always.. Rip ole pal they gained a true working angel.....

This man i cant express how much he influenced me. From giving me my first gun to taking me hunting. A boy he wasn't related to just one he wanted to help and show the way. My thoughts and prayers are with his family a great man has moved on to a better life with the man he served. Rip ole friend words will never thank you enough
Emery was a special friend to the Ralph and Beatrice Banks Family of Kentucky. I remember his visits to Moores Creek Church of Christ and our family reunions. A wonderful man.
Q: How did you meet Emery?
A: I met Emery many years ago when he came for a church meeting. It was such a blessing to have known such a wonderful Christian man.
