I told my Mother (Sharon), I might be writing a book about my Granny when I share my memory on the website. I had the pleasure of living right next door to Granny and Poppy all my life. I hate saying anything like, Granny was... It's hard to imagine her not being here anymore. She was the backbone in our family.
I have so many stories about how she was backing her car out of the garage one day, side swiped the fender and told me not to tell Poppy about it. Granny, Aunt Kathy, Uncle Ric and I rode a rollercoaster together, Uncle Ric and I turned around and saw the most hilarious face she was making. She took me to Florida back in I think '96. There are so many great memories of Granny.
Granny tought me the value of family. It was never about what you have but it was the memories of the people around you that you can share the memories with. Granny would make dinner and if you wanted a plate, soda, snack... Make yourself at home.
I'd watch Granny get out her video camera and film all sorts of different moments that caught her eye. That really fueled my love for video recording and taking pictures of my family. Granny was always grabbing her cameras and snapping a few cherished moments.
She called me last year for my birthday. I didn't get to the phone in time, but she left a voicemail. I kept her message and I am so glad I did. She was such a kind, generous, loving person. There was never a moment that I can remember that she was ever anything different.
I could go on and on about my Granny. She will be forever in my heart. I had the most distinct pleasure of being one of her grandchildren. Thank you Granny. I love you so much!
So sorry to hear of Jeans passing! I've known her most of my life & she always had a kind word & a smile! My prayers & sympathy to all her family & friends for God's peace & comfort during this hard time! Charlotte Thacker Justus
