Esther Jean Rogers' Obituary
Esther Jean Rogers, 90, of Hernando, Florida, formerly of Chesapeake, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, at Vitas Hospital in Lecanto, Florida. She made her home with her daughter, Kathy, and son‑in‑law, Ric Barmes, who lovingly cared for her in her later years. Born on March 23, 1935, in Athalia, Ohio, Esther was the daughter of the late Max and Flora Henderson. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46½ years, William F. Rogers; her three sons, Ronnie Lee Rogers, Billy Max Rogers, and Bobby Joe Rogers; two grandsons, Jeremy Todd Rogers, and Eugene Dickey Church; one great‑grandson, Noah William Phillips; her brothers, Hobert Henderson and Jerry Henderson, and her sister, Marjorie McCoy. Esther is survived by her children, Sharon Phillips (Ronnie), Jean Ann Church, Michael Rogers (Lori), and Kathy Barmes (Ric). She leaves behind many grandchildren, great‑grandchildren, and great‑great‑grandchildren, as well as her brother, Harold Henderson; sister, Janice Blankenship, and numerous extended family members and friends who loved her dearly. A 1952 graduate of Chesapeake High School, Esther was a devoted member of Defender Chapel in Chesapeake, Ohio. She retired from Corbin Ltd. in Huntington, West Virginia, where she formed lasting friendships and was known for her strong work ethic and kind spirit. Esther will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. Graveside services will be held at Miller Memorial Gardens Miller, Ohio, on December 27, 2025, at 2:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will follow at the VFW Post located at 32 Township Road 1225, Proctorville, Ohio.
