George Wesley Thacker's Obituary
The family of George Wesley Thacker, of South Point, Ohio, are saddened to announce his passing Friday, May 22, 2026, at age 87. George was born May 08, 1939. He was a dedicated retiree from Steel of WV after many, many years of service and known for his love of fishing and hunting. George is preceded in death by his parents Franklin and Audrey Smoot Thacker; son, Ricky Thacker; daughter, Debra Thacker Johnson; brother, Noah Thacker, stepson Larry Harless Jr. and wife Linda Thacker. He is survived by his brother, Robert Thacker; son, Claude Thacker; daughter, Vicki (Lawrence) Dixon; nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and close family friend, Kathy Bias, his caregiver, whom we are very grateful to have had.
Services for George will be held at Highland Cemetery in Huntington, WV, Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, OH, is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at https://ehallfuneralhome.com
