Helen Stratton Gwinn's Obituary
Helen Stratton Gwinn, 85, of South Point, OH, died Saturday, October 27th at home surrounded by her cherished family. Memorial services will be 2:30 PM Saturday, January 26, 2013, at Chesapeake United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Case and Rev. William Stratton officiating. Following the service, the family invites you to join them for food and fellowship in the church fellowship hall. Mrs. Gwinn attended Concord College in WV before marrying her late husband, Charles L. Gwinn. Born in Auxier, KY, in 1927, Helen was also preceded in death by her parents William N. Stratton and LeOla Pack Stratton. She is survived by her brother, Rev. William Stratton (Ann) of Louisville, KY, her son, Charles Stephen Gwinn (Betty) of Chesapeake, OH, and her daughters, Pamela Gwinn Montgomery (George) of South Point, OH, and LauraLe Gwinn Heinz (Erich) of Bremerton, WA. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Tracy Gwinn Fernandez (Jose); Jessica Montgomery Carrico (Brian); Allison Montgomery Owens (David); Micah, Camille, Dietrich, Liesl, Corrie, Susannah, Leah, Christopher, and Erich Heinz II; Herb Rose III (Sheryl); Shelton Rose (Connie); Dwight Burk; Bryan Burk; Sarah Burk Winberry (James D.); and her great-grandchildren: Lauren, Andrew, Ellen, and Gwinn Carrico; Eden and Jagur Owens; Colton, OakLeigh, and Sophia Rose; Arthur and Abby Rose; and Kailey Winberry. For many years Mrs. Gwinn served patients in the front offices of Drs. Robert Jennings, Robert Wild, and Marc Wild in the orthodontic and dental professions. Mrs. Gwinn was a member of Chesapeake United Methodist Church where she was actively involved for over 45 years. "Granny"- as many knew her, faithfully shared Christ with family and friends through her love and service. Helen was a devoted wife, a caring mother, and a proud grandmother. The lives she influenced will reap eternal benefits. Helen will be sorely missed by the family she treasured, but "we sorrow not as others who have no hope" (I Thes. 4:13).
