For as the Sun goes down tonight we must have Faith that our Loved Ones will be seen again one morning.
The timing of that morning will be different for all.
For time within the Heart struggles painfully more than what the paper on the wall displays.
Paths are different. Many way to short.
Tears fall as the days crawl by. We ask why
Take Heart that pain is only here with us and not with those who have left us.

I remember going to listen to Jake early on when he performed at Books and Brews in Hurricane. The fun times my kids had with him at church and at Camp Caleb. Like when my son Cameron and Jake had aged out of camp but went back as night watchmen just to be able to be back at camp. And when Jake and my daughter, Jocelyn sang a couple of songs Jake had wrote at church. He was a sweet and funny young man. He was very talented and will be missed by so many.
Jake was a great friend to me. I remember him from my first year of camp Caleb when we were in 6th grade. He eventually started to come to my home church, Fellowship Baptist. We went on mission trips and sang at church together. One of the most fond memories I have with Jake is when a few of us from youth group went with him to the proctorville McDonald's for a shamrock shake. They threw an ice cream cone on my windshield and it smeared everywhere. He was there with me through stupid high school breakups and he would give the best advice. He was such a talented, intelligent, hilarious guy and I will miss his humor but the memories live on. Thank you, Jake, for the memories of a life time.

Jake and I would always share our love for music and gear by sending each other what gear we got that month. I always loved hearing him sing his song. Rest in peace friend.
I remember just having a real blast with Jake at camp Caleb. And at church I will definitely miss him.
Jake and I attended Youth Group together at Fellowship Baptist Church during High School. I went through and found some pictures from that time period.
My favorite Jake memory from that time was when Jake and Nik Ignacio got meat mountains from Arby's one evening after church. I was riding home with my mom and stopped to grab food before heading home. By the time my mom and I got home, Jake and Nick were sitting at our kitchen table already eating. I wish I had a picture from that day.
Colt, I am praying for God's peace and comfort for you and your family. I am so sorry for your loss. Love you my friend.
After not seeing Jake for years, we ran into each other at Marshall's library. Both of us joked about how unorganized Marshall, and it seemed like no time had passed.
