I met Mark on the soccer field as a fellow official and quickly became friends. I have so many memories with him, it's difficult to choose just one. Our "prank wars" led to a truce at the Warrior Classic where we would still meet up when I moved back to NY. Another fond memory are the rules that we set forth whenever we were reffing a game. Getting hit by the ball meant you were responsible for the first round after the game. Whenever I got hit, I would look over and he would be on the line, rubbing his belly and smiling. He was a devoted team player, fellow official, family man, and a great friend. I loved our Warrior Classic "team" that would meet up in Dayton every Memorial Day Weekend. Mark taught me to be positive, fair, loyal, while still working hard and enjoying those around me. Reading the memories of others shows me that he was like that with a lot of people. Of all the people I've met over the years, his passing is particularly difficult, since I know he was one of the good ones. RIP Mark. I will miss you. Prayers to Cathy, Marko, and the rest of your family. Love you buddy, fly high with the angels.
