I got to know Mattie at the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. We were so lucky to have her there, with her great sense of humor and patience to tolerate all the guys who would kid with her along with Granny and Doc. She was always willing to help out and do what she could to help all of us. She was always talking about her family and would share what was going on in their lives. She meant the world to so many of us, and I hope she knows that she made a difference in each of our lives. Her compassion, her giving heart and the love she gave each of us will not be forgotten.
