I am so saddened to belatedly hear of Mike's passing. Mike and I were in Navy Boot Camp together in 1971 and helped each other get through an awful eight weeks. I attended his wedding of Jane, and visited once in Florida. After a long gap, we found each other on Facebook. Despite some glaring differences between us, Mike and I shared some common values. He drew a caricature of me in Boot Camp - I need to hunt and see if I Ican find it. Rest in peace, my friend.
Rest easy old friend. You taught me many things and gave me opportunities that changed my life. I dreamed about you the night you left. I felt it very odd that I would have dreamed about you after having not seen you in so many years. in the dream we were going to meet and play guitar, but I got held up and by the time I got to where we were supposed to meet - you had already gone. Two days later a mutual friend told me of your death. I must say, old friend, that this was surely not a coincidence. Perhaps you were reminding me of the importance to keep in touch with those who were influential in your life in a positive way before it is too late to do so. Fair winds and following seas comrade.

Condolences to the entire McDonald family, especially Bill and Jay. Although we both went to St. Anthony's together, I was a Senior and knew Bill and Jay a little more than Michael.
