Rev. Dean Allen Runyon's Obituary
REV. DEAN ALLEN RUNYON, 90, of Chesapeake, OH, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, October 5, 2012, in Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with Rev. Janet Mounts officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Kenova, WV. Dean was born February 2, 1922, in Ceredo, WV, a son of the late Harvey and Nancy Belle Crockett Runyon. He ministered various churches for 41 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Louise Virginia "Lula" Dudley Runyon; five sisters, Louise Stanley, Maxine Williams, Doris Nichols, Edna Workman, and Evelyn Sark; and one brother, Otis Runyon. Dean is survived by four children and their spouses, Allen (Gladys)Runyon, Sharon (Eddie) Lusher, David (Kathy) Runyon, and Nancy (Ben) Coleman with whom he made his home; 14 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; three brothers, Harvey Runyon, Jr., James Runyon, and Ray Workman; and his constant companion, Winston Coleman. Honorary pallbearer will be Bruce Coleman. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Monday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake, OH. Condolences may be expressed at www.schneidergriffin.com.
