Richard William Neace's Obituary
Richard “Dick” William Neace,77, of Proctorville, Ohio, was called home to be with his Lord on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the Emogene Dolin Hospice House in Huntington, WV, following a brief illness. He was born April 12, 1947, to Chester and Margaret O’Brien Neace. Dick was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved son, Richard Neace, “Rich”, Jr. Dick is survived by his wife of 57 years, Brenda Bailey Neace; sons, Brent (Melissa) Neace and Tyler (Stacy) Neace; his sister, Linda (Russ) Houck; brother, Chet Neace; grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Cameron, Collin, Kirstyn Neace, Luke Neace, and Jake O’Bryan, and numerous nieces and nephews who love him, and many friends who mourn his passing. Dick graduated from Vinson High School in 1966 in Huntington, WV. After graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force and attended Marshall University. He joined Local 80 Heat and Frost Workers Insulators, from which he retired after 30 years of service. He was an active lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge #550 F &AM in Proctorville, Ohio. Dick was an avid Marshall sports fan and was often seen at MU sporting events, basketball, and football games with his wife, sons, and grandchildren. He was a lifetime supporter of Tiger athletics and was a proud Vinson High School graduate. He always said orange was his favorite color! He was a loyal supporter of all Fairland Schools and Fairland athletics where his boys attended, graduated, and played sports. In Proctorville, he enjoyed coaching little league baseball, football, and basketball, coaching youth basketball for nearly 20 years. The pride he had in the players was evident, smiling broadly and beaming when his former players called him coach. He was honored to be a part of so many young players’ lives. Dick was a friend to many and never met a stranger. His big smile and lighthearted personality were inviting, and he will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Memorial Park in Huntington, WV.
