Willis Ray Maynard's Obituary
Willis "Shorty" Ray Maynard, 84, of Crown City, OH, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, OH. Born on February 10, 1940, in Mingo County, WV, he was the son of the late Stolla and Della Perry Maynard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Lou Blankenship, whom he married on Christmas day in 1960, and 2 brothers-in-law, Wendell Maynard and Andrew "Bud" White. Shorty was a member of Bailey Chapel Church in Gallia County, Ohio. He is survived by his children, Gregory Maynard of Gallipolis, OH, Scott (Charlene) Maynard and Angie (William) Strait of Crown City, OH; brother, Dennis Maynard of Dunbar, WV; sisters, Marlene Maynard of Medina, OH, Eloise White of Sullivan, OH, and Gail (Tenis) White of Wellington, OH; grandchildren, Ryan Maynard of Gallipolis, OH, Sean and Aaron Maynard of Crown City, OH, Jeremy Circle, Cassie Strait of Crown City, OH, and Blake Strait of Huntington, WV. 3 great-grandchildren, Logan Maynard, Anna and Paul Circle, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 18th from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, OH. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 19th at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Johnson, officiating. Burial will follow at Swan Creek Cemetery in Crown City, OH.
